Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann will dedicate a 30 feet tall statue of Shaheed-e-Aazam Bhagat Singh at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, Mohali on September 28- the birth anniversary of the iconic martyr.
Presiding over a meeting to review the installation of the statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, the CM said that the aesthetically designed 30 feet statue of the legendary martyr has been made of gunmetal. He expressed hope that this statue will go a long way to inspire the younger generations to serve the country zealously. Mann said that this statue will be a befitting tribute to the legendary martyr by the state govt and will act as a catalyst to perpetuate the glorious legacy of this valiant son of soil.
The CM said that due to strenuous efforts of the state government, the Mohali International Airport has already been named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Mann further said that naming the airports, universities and other institutions in the name of these iconic martyrs is important to perpetuate their glorious legacy. He said that naming these institutions after great national leaders can inspire our youth for selfless service towards the country.
